Utopia

Utopia: A ThrillerUtopia – Lincoln Child
Evan’s ESS = 7 out of 10
Erin’s ESS = 4 out of 10
Content = PG-13 (Adult Concepts, Violence, Rollercoaster Awesomeness)

Why:  Utopia contains the perfect recipe for awesomeness:  Amusement parks and … well really it only has amusement parks going for it, but that almost counts for two.  After reading it you’ll wonder why every fiction novel wasn’t set in a futuristic amusement park.

Utopia is a thriller novel and while the suspense is only slightly above average it’s still a good read (did we mention that 90% of the action takes place inside an amusement park?).  Anyone who’s watched Terminator or I, Robot knows that creating robots with intellectual liberties is never a good idea.  The novel is very unique and with five separate themed “worlds” where things can go wrong, there’s enough page-turnability to ride all the way to the exciting conclusion.

Editors Note:  In truth, one of us hated Utopia, while the other was inspired to purchased Rollercoaster Tycoon III, (with the water park expansion pack) and shut himself themself up behind the computer for over a month.  Can you guess which one?  We’ll give you a hint; their first name starts with E.
